David comes from a family with nearly a century of epicurean experience. His passion is deep rooted and a foundation for his identity as a chef. He was born in Minsk, where his great grandfather and grandfather were prominent Matzah bakers, exposing David at an early age to pure, fresh ingredients.
David provides elevated culinary experiences at events, many of them high-end, ranging from intimate dinner parties to galas with thousands of people. An expert in the wedding industry, David will ensure brides and grooms have the event of their dreams — and that all their guests go home happy and raving about the food. Whether it’s another lifecycle event like a bris or bar mitzvah, David is dedicated to crafting the ultimate delicious display to suit the needs and tastes of his clients.
In addition, David caters functions for many Fortune 500 clients and corporate meetings and conferences. His sense of style and elevated flavors make him a distinct and attractive option for Glatt kosher catering.
David also owns LOX New York City, the cafe in the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Battery City Park. His cuisine there is a unique marriage of familiar old world tastes and traditional favorites with modern twists and accents, the perfect dining combination of the old and the new.
His global background influences his cooking style and provides inspiration for his food. On his journey to New York from Russia, David lived in Vienna and then Italy, where his taste buds were introduced to clean new flavors. He received professional Japanese culinary training and is a true food purist who believes in the "Zero Mile" philosophy — using locally grown vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices, and fresh catches of the day in his cooking.
